We spent years working in yachting — and used UK property investment to create the option to come ashore on our own terms. Landfall exists to give other crew that same choice.

The person behind Landfall

Hi, I'm Tom.

I spent seven years working at sea — on sail and motor yachts ranging from 50 to 95 metres. Long seasons, hard work, and the opportunity to earn well.

Early on, I decided that income should be working rather than sitting in a bank account. So I started investing in UK property while I was still on board — and found out the hard way how much there is to get wrong doing it remotely, on a rotation, with no one around who really understood the situation.

It took time to get right — but once it was, it's what let me step ashore after seven years, on my own terms rather than someone else's timeline. Along the way I built the right network of people — brokers, solicitors, agents and managers I trust — who make the whole process seamless. I built Landfall so other crew don't have to learn all of that the hard way — I take on the parts I spent years figuring out, so building a portfolio never becomes a second job.

The whole point was the freedom.

If the timing isn't right, or the numbers don't work for you, we'll say so. We'd rather lose a client than put someone into an investment they shouldn't be making.

That means we turn away clients who aren't ready. We'd rather you come back in six months than rush into the wrong deal.

We know how crew get paid, how offshore income is treated by lenders, and how to structure a purchase around a life that doesn't fit neatly into standard processes.

We've navigated foreign currency payslips, irregular contracts and offshore working patterns — because we've lived it.
